Qualceram Shires Prelims for 2007
Qualceram Shires plc has announced its preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2007. Turnover was €90 million, down from €102 million in 2006 and gross margin was down from 32.3% to 30.5%.

Launching of Bangladesh Sanitaryware Range in Nepal
Bangladeshi sanitaryware was launched in the markets of Nepal in a ceremony held at Hotel Soaltee Crown Plaza in Kathmandu recently, reports United News of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal, Imtiaz Ahmed, inaugurated the ceremony.

Villeroy & Boch Takes Over Thai Sanitaryware Producer
Villeroy & Boch AG (Mettlach, Germany) is taking over an 80% interest in the Thai sanitaryware producer Nahm Sanitaryware Co Ltd, which is situated in Bangkok. Closing of the agreement is dependent on the approval of the Thai Board of Investment.

Kenmare Resources Releases Preliminary Results
The Irish based company Kenmare Resources has released its preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2007.  In his Chairman’s Statement, Charles Carvill brought shareholders up to date on the situation at the Mozambique mine.

Alcoa First Quarter Results
Alcoa (New York, USA) has announced first quarter 2008 income from continuing operations of US$303 million versus US$624 million in Q4 2007. Excluding restructuring and tax impacts, income from continuing operations was US$361 million, up 20% on a comparable basis from the prior quarter, which included a favourable restructuring adjustment and tax benefits totalling US$323 million.
