New Technical Director at BMA

After just eighteen months at the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, England), Chris Taylor-Hamlin has been promoted to the position of Technical Director.

Chris joined the BMA in 2008 and quickly established himself as the bathroom industry’s technical guru. He is now fully responsible for representing BMA members during the development of bathroom standards in British and European Technical Committees.

He is the principal mouthpiece for the industry liaising with UK government bodies, protecting members’ interests in any discussion forum. He also provides valuable technical information and back-up for BMA members.

Recent projects at the BMA have included the authoring of the new industry TMV Guide (an authoritative account of the current regulations and available products) and the complete review and upgrade of the Water Efficient Product Labelling Scheme. He is now working on coordinating all the available information for the forthcoming review of the Water Regulations.

Chris is a qualified engineer and during his career has worked for British Coal, Mira Showers and Reliance Water Controls. He lives in Gloucestershire but is planning to move north to be closer to the BMA offices.
